5% whole bunches, 95% destemmed, 30% held on skins for 7 weeks extended maceration post-ferment, matured French oak ranging from barriques to demi-muids (35% new) for 16 months. An exercise in elegance from start to finish. There is an airy lightness to the way the wine reaches into every corner of the mouth in the same fashion as the fragrance of the bouquet.

This is an Adelaide Hills Shiraz that juxtaposes fragrance, restraint and space with power and characterful presence. Depth and length of expansive black plum and blackberry fruit are admirable, infused with the black pepper of this cool, high site, laced with the charcuterie complexity of fermentation. Super-fine, granitic tannins coast through an epic finish.

Deep purple/red colour; rich spicy, peppery and minty aromas, bold and bright. An elegant, stylish wine with full body, fleshy texture and soft tannins. Great intensity and power. From clone 1127 grown on an east-facing block Drink: 2017 to 2037
