Lemon blossoms, crushed oyster shells and almond meal on the nose. This has spent over 5 years on its lees and has an intriguing combination of freshness and autolytic characteristics.
On the palate, the combination of delicate and savoury continues with brioche dough, green apple, lemon juice, peach blossom and nutty lemon cookies. The bubbles on this are smooth and lively, this is youthful and fresh as a daisy.
I think this should go into the collection for Chardonnay’s for my 50th birthday, time will treat it very well.

Medium to full yellow hue, with a mellowness to its bouquet, a trace of milk powder and savoury nuances rather than primary fruit. Subtle toast. Some vanilla and cashew nut that may indicate a little barrel ageing. There are dimensions to the wine. It's rich and full-bodied and the finish lasts a long time. Great acidity. Very satisfying. 04 DEC 2021 Drink 2021–2026

The steely mood of East Coast chardonnay is well settled in the toasty, spicy allure of close to 6 years lees age. Flinty reductive complexity sits appropriately within flavours of Golden Delicious apple, white grapefruit, golden kiwi, even a nuance of star fruit. Fruit generosity and acid tension sit a little disparate just 5 weeks after disgorgement, but will come into their own with cork age. Great potential.
