2015 Framingham F-Series Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Dense and reasonably concentrated pinot noir with plum, new leather and berry flavours underpinned by spicy oak. Fine tannins provide backbone and give a sense that the wine will develop well with bottle age - it's slightly closed right now. 19 JUL 2016

F-Series has an aromatic bouquet, with bright, ripe dark cherry and raspberry fruit and subtle notes of licorice, savoury dark herbs, dusty earth and nutty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate is firm and tightly concentrated with flavours of black cherries and kirsch dominating. Nuances of earth, dried herbs and nutty, slightly resinous oak are also evident. The palate is powerfully driven with good linearity that carries to a long and textured finish. This is a fine example of Marlborough Pinot that will drink well over the next 6 years.
