Deep crimson in colour. Spicy and perfumed aromas of red and black currant, mulberry and cassism with naunces of violet and dried herbs, forest moss and hints of cigar boxand cedar.
Concentrated flavours of black and blue berry fruits, ripe mulberr and black currant are complemented by rich cedar and mocha, while balanced acidity and finely structured tannins provide focus and depth for a beautuful lingering finish.
To be precise, includes 1% cabernet franc, matured in French hogsheads (20% new) for 18 months. An almost monastic portrait of cabernet, the power of the fruit making the oak and tannin contributions (relatively) unimportant. Blackcurrant, bramble, blackberry and black olive are the lead players.
