Grand Vintage 2015 is the 76th vintage in Moët & Chandon’s history. It evokes an awakening, the first rays of a day full of promise. It is ripe, tender and enveloping. With an unexpected freshness for a year that had the hottest summer since 1961,Grand Vintage 2015 is a story of intense heat and drought, as well as irresistible light.
Fleshy and robust with honey, brioche and toasty aromas before a palate thick with fruity depth and impeccable balance. Extended time on lees adds some extra layers and the finish is long and sleek. Moët's vintage is a more classical in style with fleshy palate weight, fruity depth and impeccable balance. Extended time on lees adds some extra layers and the finish is long and sleek. It makes an ideal accompaniment to seafood mollusks, such as oysters, mussels or clams, and should be opened for celebrations.
A light golden hue with fine, persistent bubbles. The maturity of this champagne is immediately apparent, with autumnal notes of roasted chestnuts, toasted buckwheat, rich nuts, honey and nougat. White fruit is revealed next, reminiscent of a beautifully ripe apple or pear. Aromas of iodine, dried flowers and pine sap complete the bouquet.
The palate is direct and energetic, supported by a lively yet delicate acidity and a finely chiselled structure, and enveloped by a refined, grainy texture. The wine finishes with a pleasantly bitter hint of white grapefruit.
