From the 0.37ha low-yielding Block 12 planted in '73, 35% whole bunches, 3 days cold soak, a temperature-controlled co-ferment with viognier, matured in new and used French puncheons for 14 months. Winner of the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge '16, plus a series of gold medals of varying importance. It is a wine of considerable quality, its dark plum/blackberry fruits established their dominance from the outset, not wavering on the palate, finish or aftertaste.
