2015 Poggerino Chianti Classico DOCG, Tuscany classic sangiovese. Dusky floral red berry fruit, with a touch of dark violet. The fruit is supported by some nice tobacco and smoky oak. Good mouthfeel, more is revealed as the opens up. Very good value.
After vinification and maceration the wine is racked in Slovenian and French oak where malolactic fermentation takes place. After aging for 12 months the wine is bottles and then further aged for 8 months before being offered to drinker.
