Aged 5 years in which 24 months in oak barrels of 25 – 50 hl, followed by 6 months in bottle.
The Villa al Cortile Brunello has almost an impenetrable dark red colour. It is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes and has spent 24 months in oak barrels. It is sustained and round with complex notes of licorice and ripe black cherry flavours dominating. Full, ripe, spicy black-skinned fruit is evident on the palate, while the smooth tannins expose great elegance. Lingering chestnutty fruit long aftertaste. This intense wine, is both powerful and classy, and a tremendous value for the investment.
Brunello is a perfect companion to red meats, smoked, wood roasted, braised or grilled. But its classic partner is the grilled T – Bone Steak in the Florentine style. Serve at 18-20 degrees C.
Splendid aromas of crushed berries, flowers and light dust. So pure. Full to medium body. Extra fine and firm tannins. Citrus undertones. Beautiful finish. Best ever from here. Better in 2021
