2015 Wirra Wirra The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon, McLaren Vale

Despite the regional shiraz brand, pushing too into grenache, the Vale's maritime influence serves cabernet well. When this variety-tight of tannic fist and plentiful of acidity-is grown in regions too hot, it loses its form. Not this. bouquet garni and leaf lift mulberry and a blue-fruited flow, cassis singing above all. While powerful, one's overall impression is that of a medium-bodied savouriness.
