The nose is still shy, with hints of lemon. This note also characterize the slender, dry and still-taut palate which also has a textured earthy element on which these lovely bright citrus accents are displayed. The finish is dry on this slender, young wine.

The Kientzler family have farmed the hills surrounding Ribeauvillé since 1699 and are regarded as one of Alsace's great traditional estates. André Kientzler helped establish the domaine's reputation for elegant, long lived wines that faithfully reflect their vineyard origins, a philosophy that continues under the family's careful stewardship today.
Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé sits high above the medieval town on steep limestone and marl slopes that have earned Grand Cru status for their ability to produce wines of remarkable finesse and longevity. Riesling is particularly at home here, combining the richness of the site with the precision and mineral tension that define the finest wines of Alsace.
The colour is a bright golden straw with youthful flashes still visible after almost a decade in bottle. Aromas of lemon zest, preserved citrus and white peach mingle with acacia blossom, chamomile and crushed stone. As the wine opens, layers of beeswax, toast and delicate kerosene emerge, adding complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The palate is powerful yet beautifully composed, with vibrant acidity driving flavours of lime, grapefruit and stone fruit through a long, saline finish that seems to echo the limestone beneath the vines.
Outstanding with lobster thermidor, grilled flathead with beurre blanc, roast chicken with tarragon and morels, or a creamy cauliflower and Comté tart. Drinking wonderfully now, while the structure and freshness suggest another decade of graceful evolution in a cool cellar.
