From the prestigious commune of Saint Julien in Bordeaux comes a wine that reflects the elegance and pedigree of one of the Médoc’s most respected estates. Château Branaire Ducru is a Fourth Growth classified in the famous 1855 Bordeaux Classification, with a history dating back to the seventeenth century. Duluc de Branaire Ducru is the château’s second wine, crafted from younger vines and selected parcels within the estate’s gravel rich vineyards that overlook the Gironde estuary. These classic Médoc soils provide excellent drainage and heat retention, allowing Cabernet Sauvignon and its blending partners to ripen slowly and develop structure and aromatic complexity.

Deep garnet with ruby reflections, the aromatics are refined and layered. Blackcurrant, dark cherry and plum lead, followed by notes of cedar, graphite and dried herbs. Subtle hints of tobacco leaf and spice add complexity, reflecting both the terroir and careful barrel maturation.

On the palate it is medium to full bodied with polished structure. Dark berry fruit forms the core, supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity that give both freshness and longevity. Notes of cassis, cedar and gentle oak weave through the mid palate, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering graphite and spice. It captures the classic style of Saint Julien, combining structure with finesse.

Pair with roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck breast or aged Comté. While approachable in its youth with careful decanting, Duluc de Branaire Ducru will cellar confidently for twelve to fifteen years, developing further savoury complexity and integration.
