2016 Crabtree Watervale Riesling, Clare Valley

Crabtree is situated in the heart of the historic and iconic Watervale district, the tasting room and courtyard (set in the produce cellar of the original 1850s homestead) looking out over the estate vineyard. The winery was founded in 1984 by Robert Crabtree, who built a considerable reputation for medal-winning Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2007 it was purchased by an independent group of wine enthusiasts; the winery firmly continues in the established tradition of estate-grown premium wines (Robert remains a shareholder).

100% from the estate vineyard, hand-picked and sorted. The bouquet is floral, with citrus, apple and a hint of herb, the palate fleshy (in riesling terms) with ripe citrus fruits and comforting acidity on the finish and aftertaste.
