This 2016 opens with a nice kick of generous ripe citrus fruit, flintstone minerality and a suggestion of brioche savouriness, but the wine's true essence is its subtlety and elegance. The palate shows both substance and finesse with a moreish texture. The wine's fruit weight coexists with tight tension and balancing acidity.
Impressively pure, almost luscious chardonnay from the famous hillside Clayvin vineyard. Ripe tree fruit, peach and nectarine flavours with ginger, hazelnut and spicy oak. Surprisingly accessible wine that promises to develop well with bottle age.26 JUN 2018 Drink 2018–2024
