Frankland River riesling (the weightiest) exhibits pungent spicy blossom and hints of stone fruits enhanced by an underlying citrus vibrancy.A seamless palate, with initial flavours of passion fruit and mandarin lead to a spicy mid-palate with richer hints of mango sorbet finishing with classic mouth-watering lemons and limes.
The most tensile and kinetic of all the Harewood Rieslings, this is suggestive of grapefruit zest, Meyer lemon and the barest hint of quince. It takes no prisoners in terms of its austerity, cutting across the palate in a display of raiser-sharp precision. Some may accuse it of being ascetic in terms of the relentless acidity and mouth-pummelling dryness. No doubt, the wine will show some mercy in time.
