‘A whiff of the sauvage adds breadth to the red and dark cherry-infused aromas that are trimmed in a background note of wood toast. There is a lovely sense of energy and delineation to the focused and sappy medium-bodied flavours that deliver first-rate length on the overtly austere and moderately rustic finish. This is very Nuits in style and is going to require extended cellaring to soften the firm tannins but it should more than repay your patience.’
