Fragrant to the point of perfume, with red flowers, spice and forest on the bouquet, the supple red and purple fruits of the palate seamlessly bonded to fine tannins and quality oak. Ready now despite its long future.

The Kerrigan + Berry Shiraz from Frankland River is a standout example of cool-climate Australian Shiraz. Crafted by esteemed winemakers Larry Cherubino and Robert Kerrigan, this wine combines the intensity of Frankland River fruit with finesse and balance, reflecting the unique terroir of Western Australia’s Great Southern region.

On the nose, this Shiraz reveals enticing aromas of dark berries, including blackberries and plums, intertwined with notes of black pepper, clove, and dried herbs. Subtle hints of licorice, cedar, and a touch of smoked meat add complexity and depth.

The palate is full-bodied yet refined, with velvety tannins and a vibrant acidity providing structure and elegance. Flavors of ripe dark fruits are complemented by savory elements of black olive, spice, and a delicate minerality. The oak influence is seamlessly integrated, contributing a smooth texture and subtle vanilla undertones. The finish is long and layered, leaving a lasting impression of balance and sophistication.

Kerrigan + Berry Shiraz is made with meticulous attention to detail, using hand-picked fruit from select vineyards in Frankland River. Fermentation is carried out in small batches, and the wine is aged in French oak barrels to enhance its complexity and age-worthiness.

This Shiraz pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, slow-cooked beef cheeks, or roasted game. It also complements hearty vegetarian dishes such as eggplant moussaka or lentil stew. While approachable in its youth, this wine has the structure to evolve gracefully over 8–12 years, developing further richness and complexity.
