2016 Port Phillip Red Hill Pinot Noir, Mornington Peninsula fresh floral strawberry, black cherry scented fruit. The palate has nice spice and silky tannins with the cherry berry fruit well supported. Good acidity that settles down. Try with spicy middle eastern lamb dishes.
Medium to deep red/purple colour, bright and youthful. Red cherry and violet perfumes, a trace of ginger - an unusual nose but attractive. The palate is tight and firm, coiled and lively and full of unresolved tension. The finish is steely and has a trace of bitterness. It could benefit from a little more time. It's still very young. 28 JUL 2017
