Deep red colour with a tint of purple and a sweetly plummy, toasty-vanilla bouquet which is carrying a lot of oak. Coal-dusty, sooty regional notes as well. There are spice and star anise notes also. A big, rich, ripe, strong shiraz built in an unapologetically full-throttle style. Cellaring will benefit it. 15 MAR 2020 Drink 2022–2035

Selectiv'-harvested, whole-berry open-fermented, 14 days on skins, matured in a single new hogshead for 12 months, then a 2yo hogshead. The tannins needed both barrel and 2 years bottle ageing prior to release mid-'19. Thereafter? Who know, it all depends on the tannins.
