The Adelé range has a dedicated focus on Natural and Biodynamic principles, which revolve around the guiding philosophy of minimal intervention in both the vineyard and winery. The wines are all fermented from indigenous yeasts, using skin contact and whole bunches. No sulphur is used and the wines are 100% unfiltered.
They are produced in genuine small batches, with an average production of only 100 dozen per year. Winemaker Ben Ranken has just been named a Young Gun Finalist in the 2019 Young Guns of Wine Awards.
Hey hey sangiovese. Quite a serious take on it here, loaded with structure. Dark berry scents, espresso and chocolate notes, sarsaparilla, faint earth and char notes. Chewy in tannins, concentrated dark cherry flavours, savoury nuttiness, dried herbs, pepper. Good length, intensity, and drive. Sappy kind of feel but builds into strong pucker. Very nicely done.

Whole berries, natural ferment, matured for 10 months in old French oak. Heathcote grapes. An attractive expression of the variety, appropriately mid-weight, with both fruit and savoury elements playing their part. Aromas and flavours show bright, fresh cherry characters, the slightly tart and pippy astringency on the palate providing the counterpoint.
