Fruit from a single vineyard with a multiplicity of clone and rootstock combinations. Fermented in small open fermenters, aged 10 months in seasoned French barriques. Noticeably pale colour, even for nebbiolo. Earthy, savoury aromas with just a hint of rose-petal. Soft and approachable on the palate, finishing with a sour cherry like astringency. Drinking well now.

10 clones from 21 individual plantings destemmed, crushed and wild yeast open-fermented separately, matured in used French barriques for 10 months, minimal SO2. The colour is clear, but showing the first signs of development. The vinification is crowding angels onto a pin head, but this is a pretty snappy nebbiolo, with a rose petal and spice perfume, the palate jauntily picking up the lead of the bouquet.
