Blue Gold, Top 100 Wines – Sydney International Wine Show
This classic Margaret River blend shows aromas of freshly cut pear, white flowers and lemon curd with hints of cut grass and subtle spice. A pristine entry to the palate of freshly cut stone fruit, gooseberries and orange zest is all drawn out through the palate by a tensile array of white fruits and subtle French oak. A refreshing yet moreish finish of wet stone and citrus blossoms.
Barrel fermentation makes its presence felt on the bouquet, but much less on the powerful, fruit (and acid) driven palate. Grapefruit and mineral hurl bolts of lightning at each other, paying no attention to bystanders, innocent or otherwise. Good now or in 5 years time.
