“It was a wet Spring and a cool summer, which resulted in a super late vintage perfect for Pinot Noir. The cooler conditions led to slow, even ripening with great colour and fantastic natural acidity. I reckon this is some of the best Pinot Dad has ever grown.”
This wine is a blend of our ‘A Block’ MV6 clone and ‘H Block’ Pommard clone. The cool vintage meant the acidity took ages to reduce to a level appropriate for picking, so the flavour spectrum is actually fairly ripe. The final blend is 60% MV6 and 40% Pommard, with about 60% whole bunches used. Racked once for bottling with minimal SO2.
