2017 was a return to a more traditional Coonawarra vintage with a cool growing season and mild summer. Ideal conditions in the lead up produced outstanding Chardonnay fruit with great flavour and aromatics.
Parcels of Chardonnay were fermented and maturated for 14 months in 43% French (13% new) and 57% American (27% new) oak barrels, adding complexity, texture and suppleness. Eight percent of the blend was unoaked.
Pale gold with green tinges. Appealing rich fruit aromas of white peach and citrus overlaid with vanilla and cashew nut notes.A richly layered palate of stone fruit flavours with hints of citrus. Elegant vanillin and oak characters from barrel maturation provide complexity and balance.
Delicious now with veal scaloppini, grilled shole founder with a butter sauce aor a Ceasar salad or cellar for up to 10 years.
