Compared to recent years, Coonawarra's 2017 vintage was later than usual, with a cool growing season. Overall harvest temperatures were slightly warmer than average, producing excellent Shiraz fruit with good colour and vibrant varietal character.
Oak Maturation:
A parcel of this wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak.
Colour: Vibrant plum with purple hues.
Nose: Concentrated dark cherry, plum and raspberry notes with hints of chocolate and spice.
Palate: Juicy, ripe blackberry, plum and ripe, red berry fruits enhanced by subtle sweet spices and hints of dark chocolate. Creamy bubbles lead to soft tannins on the lingering finish.
Food Matching:
An appealing and versatile wine, best served chilled. Enjoy with barbecued meats or antipasto and cheese platters. Also perfect at the end of a meal with chocolate desserts.
