Single-vineyard zinfandel matured for 24 months in new French oak. Medium crimson in the glass with notes of deep, plummy fruits cut with baking spices, blackcurrant pastille, turned earth, clove and oak-derived spice. Robust with trademark ‘zin’ tannins plunging through the wine, but there’s some nice detail on the palate as red fruits flow in and the wine sails to a spicy finish.
