He has some ancient vines here. Rich deep purple. Wow. This has a quite extraordinary density to it, and minerals, this is not one of the soft and supple late picked examples which I have tasted elsewhere. It has massive density, and would out Chambertin a Chambertin. Immensely long finish. Tasted Dec 2018.

Both upper and lower register aromas include the essence of plum, red cherry and lavender that contrasts with plenty of spice, earth and sauvage elements. The rich, powerful and gorgeously textured flavors possess excellent size and weight along with very solid concentration where the abundant amount of dry extract buffers the very firm tannic spine shaping the youthfully austere and impressively long finish where a touch of bitter cherry pit character arises. Once again, patience definitely advised. DON'T MISS!

Christophe Perrot Minot has become one of Burgundy's most admired winemakers, transforming his family's domaine into a benchmark for purity, elegance and precision. His meticulous vineyard work and gentle extraction techniques have earned cult status among collectors, with the old vine cuvées sitting among the most sought after wines of the Côte de Nuits.
Chambertin Clos de Bèze is one of Burgundy's greatest Grand Cru vineyards, with a history stretching back to the seventh century when monks first cultivated vines on the slope above Gevrey Chambertin. Perrot Minot's Vieilles Vignes bottling comes from exceptionally old vines, producing tiny yields of extraordinary concentration and complexity.
The colour is a deep ruby garnet with remarkable intensity. Aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry unfold alongside rose petals, Asian spice and hints of forest floor. As the wine opens, layers of truffle, game and crushed rock emerge, revealing the haunting complexity that defines great Clos de Bèze. The palate is powerful yet incredibly refined, combining immense concentration with silky tannins and remarkable freshness. There is extraordinary detail and precision throughout, finishing with wave after wave of fruit, spice and mineral character that linger for minutes.
This is a wine worthy of the finest occasions, pairing magnificently with roast duck, venison loin, beef Wellington or wild mushroom pithivier with black truffle. While captivating today with careful decanting, this Grand Cru masterpiece will continue evolving for decades.
