Pale straw with a green tinge. A subdued yet complex perfume of lemon blossom, lime and ginger, with delicate hints of brioche and pine needles. Savoury overtones of bread crust, almond and spicy oak bring depth to the intriguing fragrance. The soft creamy texture, polished acidity and light, dry tannin finish combine to create an incredible body and mouthfeel. Lovely citrus flavours mingle with hints of crushed dry vine leaf and kaffir lime. Not overtly fruity in this cool vintage, the wine is delicate and textured, with pure balance.
Light straw-yellow colour. The wine opens with a smoky note whether from oak or sulfides or both, and the longer it's in the glass, the more the pungent grapefruit powers through, together with lovely floral notes and spicy oak touches. The wine is intense on the palate and quite concentrated, with mouth-filling richness and firmness to close. A terrific chardonnay, especially at the price.23 DEC 2018 Drink 2018–2028
95 points Huon Hooke The Real Review
Sophisticated and very complex chardonnay with layers of citrus, struck flint, mineral, toasted nut, biscuit and spicy oak. A seamless wine with real power that is delivered with consummate subtlety. Texturally perfect.01 APR 2019 Drink 2019–2026
