2017 Yarra Yering Pinot Noir, Yarra Valley

Medium to full red colour with a purple tint. The aromas are sweetly ripe cherry and spice, the bright, fresh, clean varietal cherry fruit pushing all else before it. The palate is medium to full in body and the flavour is backed by a goodly foundation of tannin. The wine is deep and rich and has potential to do more with a little cellaring. 08 DEC 2018 Drink 2018–2032

Four clones, hand-picked and sorted destemmed to small stainless steel tea chests with some stalk return, gently plunged, pressed to French oak (30% new) for 10 months. They're certainly more nimble on their feet, and they're absolutely varietal. I won't be around to see how this part new/part old approach works, but I'm certain the wine will be superb.
