There’s no mistaking the concentration and complexity of this wine as it touches then senses. It is also a 3 days open wine to showcase its potential - it also relaxes, softens a little and blossoms with its myriad scents of variety, place and winemaking prowess. Dried raspberry and preserved plums, black currant and smoky oak. Dry as the wine touches the palate then a core of berry fruit flavours and baking spices of barrel show energy and power absorbing the dryness and flourishing across all corners. Tannins and abundant, finely textured with some chalky highlights, acidity sets the back bone in place. A complex and lengthy wine that requires exactly the right food or time in your cellar the age a further 1-3 years first. Best drinking from late 2024 through 2028+.

Attractively aromatic pinot noir with floral, violet and red rose aromas which repeat on the palate with the addition of cassis, savoury/dried herb, anise/spice and dark cherry flavours. Intense, dense and appealing wine with obvious cellaring potential 18 JUN 2023 Drink 2023–2033

Hand harvested and fermented naturally with a portion of whole cluster. Total time on skins is between 25 and 30 days after which the wine was pressed off and matured in 30% new French oak for spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
RKV has generous layers of complexity with a defined savoury character of coffee and licorice, this is balanced by Black Doris Plums and liquored cherries. The tannins are fine grained with a soft palate from the lower acidity of this harvest
