This wine shows flavours of ripe plums and other dark berries, layered with licorice, pepper and fresh spices. Drinking well now, but with the potential to be a long term cellaring prospect if desired. Lightly fined and racked before bottling without filtration, it is normal for some sediment to form. Decanting one hour before drinking is recommended.
It starts with a waft of meaty reduction before florals, licorice and Middle Eastern spices take over. There's more: black plums, charry oak and a savoury overlay with plush tannins and a certain vivacity. Appeals now, but will further reward those with patience.
