The 2018 Marsannay Les Vaudenelles was one of the earliest picked at the domaine. It comes across quite reduced on the nose, but the palate is well balanced, with oodles of Pinoté - so transparent and lively that you could almost drink this now. Beautiful, albeit not long-term!

Reduction knocks down the fruit though there is both good freshness and vivacity to the finer but slightly less concentrated flavors that are supple, round and generous though the finish tightens up enough to make clear that this should reward 6 to 10 years of cellaring. I would note that Vaudenelles is always better in warmer years and 2018 is no exception.
