Glenguin Estate was first planted in 1988 and is close to the village of Broke in the Hunter Valley, home of Australia’s two oldest wine styles made from Semillon and Shiraz. In 1999 a few acres of Tannat was planted in ironstone soils on the hill at Glenguin. The vines at Glenguin average 20 years of age with a small plot of 50-year-old vines in Pokolbin. Sustainable viticulture has always been practiced at Glenguin. No pesticides are used and only fully biodegradable applications are made in the vineyard that is like a garden with native grasses growing between the vines.
Light straw-yellow colour. The aromas are superbly fresh and intense, youthful and bright, with herb and lemon aromas of real charm. The palate is juicy and ripe, fresh and clean and bright, with delicious lemon and herb and a compelling juiciness. It's fresh, youthful, reserved and not at all austere or tight. The acidity is perfectly balanced, the wine is eminently drinkable now and will certainly age well. A seriously good young semillon. (495 cases made)

This is a seriously good semillon, just starting to open up and drink well, and will continue to do so for many years. The palate is juicy and ripe, fresh and clean and bright, with delicious lemon/herb fruit and a compelling juiciness. Already eminently drinkable.'
