On the plateau above Volnay, so picked at the end of the week of harvesting. Iron rich clay and some hard limestone. The colour is a deep and even purple. Rich fruit, thick grains, dark, some acidity, needs to lighten up a little for its expected role of providing a pleasing pinot to drink relatively young.
