Deep crimson with magenta highlights. Characters of rich blackberry, black cherry and macerated plums on a bed of deep spice with hints of tobacco leaf, cedar, pencil lead, dried herbs, licorice, espresso and earth. Some fig and prune join in on the palate, which shows substantial power and heft, solid fruit density, chocolatey tannins, espresso and a core of cassis fruit on the exit.

Levrier Anubis Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold yet finely structured red wine that showcases the power and elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon from Barossa and Eden Valley. Crafted by renowned winemaker Joanne Irvine, Levrier Wines is dedicated to producing expressive, small-batch wines with a strong focus on regional character and minimal intervention. The name Anubis—after the ancient Egyptian god associated with protection and the afterlife—symbolizes the wine’s depth, complexity, and ability to age gracefully.

Deep crimson in the glass, this Cabernet Sauvignon offers an intense and layered bouquet of blackcurrant, dark plum, and blackberry, intertwined with notes of cedar, graphite, and tobacco. Subtle hints of dark chocolate, bay leaf, and warm spice emerge with time, reflecting the influence of French oak maturation. The palate is rich and full-bodied, yet beautifully balanced, with finely structured tannins providing length and finesse. Dark berry flavors are complemented by earthy undertones and a touch of espresso, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of cassis and savoury spice.

This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs perfectly with grilled ribeye, slow-cooked beef brisket, or herb-crusted lamb. Its structure and depth also make it an excellent companion for aged cheddar, truffle-infused dishes, or mushroom risotto. While approachable in its youth, Anubis has the potential to evolve over the next 10–15 years, gaining further complexity and refinement.
