2018 was an ideal vintage with low moisture, warm days and cool nights; prolonging the ripening period and enabling excellent fruit flavor development without high sugars. Dry conditions towards the end of harvest minimised disease pressure and ensured even bunch ripening. Perfect for late ripening varieties like Nebbiolo.
Alluring and intense fragrance of licorice root and dark cherry with nuances of violets and roses. Spicy and delicious; the palate is medium to full-bodied and complex, with rich, savoury fruit, refreshing acidity and fine dusty tannin. The wine finishes with a dried herbal note, silky and balanced.
The real deal combining alluring nebbiolo scent, floral intensity underwritten by a dried herbal intrigue and a quiet power. Rose petal, plum, orange rind, grilled almond with a whiff of licorice. The grape's notorious tannins are tamed, just enough, allowing a glimpse into the beauty beneath. An absorbing wine.

Medium ruby colour with the faintest purple tinge. The bouquet is of slightly stewy raspberries, some herbal hints and a little sousbois. The wine is quite finely-structured and quite intense, with attractive savoury, forest-undergrowth type flavours and mild, gentle, but slightly sappy tannins. Good balance and reasonable length. A very tasty and well-structured nebb.06 FEB 2020 Drink 2020–2028
