Domaine Marc Roy is an impressive Domaine of only four hectares. Their wines are arguably the most accomplished of the village appellation. The “Justice” climat* and cuvée are made from a 0.33 hectare plot of vineyard. The nose is charming, powerful and elegant with hints of cherry, green tea leaves and pine.
The taste is silky, refined and showing beautiful wet forest aromatics followed by red berry fruits. It can be paired with roast chicken, great beef cuts of meat, barbecued beef, charcuterie and cheeses.
It drinks well now but will benefit from being cellared for four to six years. You can decant it for 35 minutes before serving in its youth or it can be cellared up until 2026+. 100% Pinot Noir.
(from a .33 ha parcel).
A slightly fresher and higher-toned nose speaks of red currant, raspberry, violet and soft wisps of spice and earth. The sleek, vibrant and seductively delicious middle weight flavors possess better precision if not quite the same density and power, all wrapped in a balanced and lingering finish. This too is a quality Gevrey villages built around finesse.
