A 60-40 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre from six lieux-dits, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape aged in concrete tanks and older barrels (20%). Aromas of strawberries and raspberries abound, resting easily above a backdrop of dark chocolate. In the mouth, it's full-bodied and silky, but it does show a slightly greenish, herbal edge on the finish.
Limpid ruby-red. Ripe cherry and dark berries on the nose and palate, along with subtle licorice and garrigue notes. In an ample, weighty style, showing good breadth and repeating dark berry character on the youthfully tannic, nicely persistent finish.
