The bouquet is rich and ciomplex and displays roasting pan, smoked meat and a hint of chocolate, while the palate is deep and rich, with excellent concentration and fleshy intensity, velvet texture and a long-lasting follow-through. Poggiotondo, meaning round hill, is the family estate of Alberto Antonini, established in 1969 by his father Carlo in the Chianti DOCG of Tuscany. Alberto has spent the past decade replanting the vineyards and transforming the property into one of the best in the region. Alberto’s ultimate recognition came in 2015 when the Decanter magazine named him one of the Top 5 Winemakers in the World
