Fruit from the estate-owned Riddoch Run vineyard, matured for 20 months in French (25% new) and American (4% new) oak, the balance seasoned. A further 18 months in bottle prior to release. This is a wonderful wine. The black fruit is concentrated and dense, packed into the oak structure. It's all there, but it's in balance. The tannins are a highlight through the finish: they're fine and chalky, and provide a bit of chew and bounce. Nice.

A very expressive nose, showing some delicate notes of white flowers, lavender, dark plum and vanilla with a touch of clove in the background.Flavours of blueberries blend harmoniously with the slight smokiness of the oak. Elegant tannins give a good volume and energy to the wine.
