An excellent Clare shiraz that opens with an earthy, faintly leathery bouquet of dark plums, berries and chocolate backed by suggestions of roasting meats and eastern spices. It's long, smooth and complete, delivering a sumptuous core of fiery black and red fruit and polished oak supported by firm, drying tannins, finishing almost savoury with lingering mineral and red licorice notes. Perhaps more suited to a burgundy bottle - which is meant as a compliment.

Tim Adams’ famed premium release spends 24 months in new American oak. It's impressive for its volume, concentration and power, and manages, even with its big, chunky status, to find balance. It's dark cherry, mocha and vanilla-cola scented and flavoured, with the palate draped in sweet cinnamon/clove woody tannins that lend grip and serious pucker. Very rich, very potent, sweet and ultra-ripe at heart as all its elements fall in place for a monolithic presence. Cellar long.

Synonymous with quality, our flagship wine ‘The Aberfeldy’, has earnt and maintains a Langtons Classification of ‘Excellent’ and has been referred to as “Clare Valley’s Grange”.
The bold, yet classy 2018 Aberfeldy has a vibrant deep ruby red hue with aromas of ripe berries, cherry, plum and chocolate accompanied by clove, nutmeg and vanilla oak derived characters. The palate is full bodied with dark berry conserve flavours and firm tannin generated from the warm, dry growing season leading in to vintage. The wine has persistent length of sweet fruit and oak, with a balance of power and great finesse. It is elegant enough to enjoy now, yet also has the structure to be kept for up to 25 years in good conditions. We recommend decanting, allowing at least one hour prior to serving for maximum enjoyment.
