2018 Tim Adams Cabernet Malbec Clare Valley

Matured in French oak for two years. Ultra-concentrated, velvety red wine with the full complement of cedar, toast, coconut and nougat from that oak seasoning. Under it all, choc-berry, new leather, mint and saltbush. The wine is formidable in its concentration and depth, and while delivering a truly muscular expression, seems to take it all in its stride. Bold stuff, done well.

Cabernet Sauvignon has long been recognised as an excellent, consistent variety that performs well in the Clare Valley. The addition of Malbec adds to the complexity of the mid-palate contributing violet, mulberry, added texture and richness. 

Feel content cellaring this Cabernet Malbec for at least ten years in good conditions. We recommend decanting a few hours before enjoying. The wine has not been cold stabilised, so a harmless crust may form with time.
