Biodynamically farmed apparently, but presumably uncertified. Extended time in French oak (40% new), with regular rack and returns throughout the maturation period to stave off reduction while promoting a leesy nourishment and a smooth patina of polymerised tannins. Success! From the eponymous proprietary vineyard planted in 1960. A wine of compelling density, refined grape skin tannins, on the more evolved and firmer side of bitter. A morass of blue fruits, ambitious oak and a sachet of pepper and clove. The tangy acidity, the proviso. Age may swallow it.
