2019 Amelia Park Reserve Shiraz, Frankland River

Hand picked, 15% whole bunches, on skins for a month, matured in French oak for 18 months (40% new). Frankland River's ferrous-ironstone character that underpins the muscular but succulent fruit is key to the region's success, adding an extra dimension of complexity to the shiraz grown here. So it goes, for this wine. Graphite tannins encase the mulberry, blackberry and roasted pomegranate fruit, while the undertow of regionality carries the wine across the tongue.

The bouquet is rich and spicy with cherry, mocha and licorice. The palate is full of plum and berry flavours supported by soft velvety tannins. Aged in French oak for eighteen months, this wine offers excellent cellaring potential.
