The aromas of this remarkable dry riesling sparkle like a well-cut gem stone. So much drive and energy are packed into a rather sleek silhouette, the enormous, citrusy freshness at the mineral finish lighting up the sky. Drink or hold.

The Kientzler family have been part of the winemaking fabric of Ribeauvillé since 1699, with generations devoted to expressing the individuality of Alsace's great vineyards. André Kientzler helped cement the estate's standing among the region's elite producers, and today the family continues that legacy with wines that balance precision, longevity and a strong sense of place.
Geisberg is one of the classic hillside vineyards of Ribeauvillé, sitting on steep slopes of limestone and sandstone that produce Rieslings of energy, perfume and striking mineral detail. The site enjoys excellent sun exposure while retaining freshness, giving the wines both early charm and the structure to reward patience in the cellar.
The colour is pale straw with flashes of green gold. Aromas of lime blossom, white peach and lemon zest leap from the glass, followed by hints of green apple, crushed rock and fresh herbs. The palate is finely etched and vibrant, with citrus and stone fruit wrapped around a core of stony minerality. There is a lovely saline edge to the finish, with the wine carrying impressive length and purity without ever feeling heavy.
An excellent partner for freshly shucked oysters, grilled king prawns with garlic and parsley, snapper with beurre blanc, or a simple plate of asparagus risotto with shaved parmesan. Drinking beautifully in its youth but with the balance and acidity to evolve gracefully over the next decade.
