Chardonnay was one of the varietals planted first in the Concongella Vineyard in the 1970’s even though cuttings were extremely hard to come by at the time. This wine comes from an old single vineyard located on a cool sheltered site within the Great Western GI. Our winemaker Justin Purser has considerable experience and a passion for making chardonnay. He assisted during four vintages with outstanding chardonnay producer Domaine de Montille in Meursault, Burgundy before taking his position at Best’s.
Bright Pale straw. Aromas of fresh baked bread, cashew nuts, gunflint and florals. The unctuous palate with creamy flavours of savoury biscuits and baked peaches is balanced by the delicate acidity and dry finish. Cellaring: 5 – 10 years
