Vinous. Long. Powerful and yet so delicate, akin to a penumbra of yellow: grapefruit, quince and lemon. A smoky whiff and salinity, too. The fleck of residual sugar sublimated by the greater whole to the point of palpable dryness. Real thrust and parry between fruit and structure here. Very fine.

Bream Creek are the proud custodians of the oldest commercial Riesling block in Tasmania, planted in 1974. In excellent vintages Bream Creek makes a special Reserve Riesling solely from fruit from these old vines. It is a powerful and bold wine, with a fragrant nose of citrus and mineral characters flowing onto a lengthy palate of lemon and lime juice, as well as a hint of grapefruit. It is simply delicious now, yet can be cellared with absolute confidence.
