With 2% malbec. Matured for 20 months in French oak (33.3% new). Cabernet and malbec are meant to be together. This is vibrant and intense, layered with cassis and pomegranate, licorice, clove, graphite and nori. The layers are sewn together with threads of saline acidity that create structure within the shape provided by the oak. All things in place here – yet another compelling Prelude release from the team at Leeuwin. Unbelievable value for money.

98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec
An engaging nose that is youthful, elegant and perfumed. Lavender, bay leaf, sage flowers and dried rosemary are swaddled around a dark core of blackcurrants, cherries and blueberries. Underlying notes of Garam Marsala spice, dehydrated beetroot, cacao, coffee and toasted anise wraps it all together.
The palate has symmetry between fruit and earth. Ladened currants greet quartz, mineral notes and laced bright acidity. Forest fruits, chocolate, cedar, and smoked clove give texture, capacity and volume around the mid-palate. Definition extends to structural, yet powdery fine tannins on the back palate.
