Attractive aromas of cooked apples, brioche and light toast that follow through to a full body with fruit flavors and very fine bubbles. Persistent and rich at the end. Lots of flavor. From hillside vineyard near the town of Avize. Drink now.

The 2019 Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs is a beautiful reminder of why Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs holds such a special place in the Champagne world. It opens with notes of lemon zest, candied pear, white flowers, and a touch of brioche, but what really stands out is the wine’s unmistakable sense of place. The mousse is fine and lively, giving the wine a wonderful sense of lift while preserving its freshness. This isn’t a Blanc de Blancs that wins you over with richness; instead, it charms through purity, precision, and balance. As it opens in the glass, layers of citrus, orchard fruit, and crushed chalk gradually emerge, each adding a little more depth and intrigue. The finish is long, clean, and mouthwatering, lingering well after the last sip. This Champagne is immensely enjoyable today but has all the structure and poise to reward additional time in the cellar.

Chardonnay takes centre stage in this beautifully refined Champagne from Louis Roederer, one of the region's great family owned houses. Founded in 1776, the estate is now led by Frédéric Rouzaud, with cellar master Jean Baptiste Lécaillon overseeing winemaking. Sourced from the celebrated chalky vineyards of Avize in the Côte des Blancs, the 2019 vintage combines ripe fruit with the freshness and finesse that make Grand Cru Chardonnay so captivating.

Pale gold with delicate green reflections and a wonderfully fine mousse. White peach, lemon zest and crisp pear mingle with acacia blossom, toasted almond and fresh brioche. Silky and beautifully focused, with vibrant citrus acidity, subtle chalky minerality and a long, elegant saline finish. The generous 2019 vintage adds lovely depth without sacrificing freshness.

Wonderful with freshly caught King George whiting, steamed mud crab with ginger, or a delicate leek and Gruyère tart. A sophisticated Champagne that deserves a little time and attention.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2038+. Beautifully expressive, with the structure to develop greater savoury complexity over the coming years.
