Note: This Barbaresco is grown in the commune of Babaresco around the winery, where calcareous blue marl soils dominate. The oldest vines were planted in 1957 and the youngest 1985. All of the fruit comes from the slopes (300m) of the Muncagöta cru, which happens to be the dialect form of “Moccagatta”. The grapes are macerated on the skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks, then the wine is aged in French oak barriques, of which approximately 40% are new, for 18 months, then the wine ages in bottle for a minimum of 10 months prior to release.
