Shiraz sourced from the epic Moorooroo Vineyard in Rowland Flat, planted in 1847, aged in French oak for 18 months (30% new). High toned and perfumed with hints of violets and jasmine hovering over the ripe plum and dark berry compote notes. Plenty of spicy nuance, hints of licorice, dark chocolate and turned earth. Medium bodied, with a sense of grace and elegance to its form; fine tannins and stony acidity shape the fruit nicely and the wine finishes savoury and long.
95 points DB winecompanion.com.au
Made from the last four remaining rows of shiraz planted by Ann Jacobs in 1847. With the previous three vintages all scoring 99 points from James Halliday this wine has become more than a collectors item. It is highly sought after by both wine collectors and wine drinkers. Known for being delicate, balanced, refreshing and complex. With a controlled intensity and super fine tannins it encompasses everything we love about wines from the Southern end of the Barossa Valley
